Beyond the Pale

I created Wy*T*Fine as a personal brand to represent myself, whimsically as the penultimate icon of whiteness. I later added ‘digital folk artist’ to include my other collages, agitprop work, and my re-use-nix character portraits. I packaged myself in the same manner as Coca-Cola, Scotch Tape, or Kleenex all brands that dominate entire product and packaging spheres. This transpired through my MFA thesis in studio art, Beyond the Pale. This work appears in my book The Design of Race: How Visual Culture Shapes America.
